PBSO Talk

Ric Bradshaw is one of the ringleaders of one of the most corrupt public organizations in the country. I have seen what has gone on in Palm Beach County and recognize that in that county there is a level of corruption and dishonesty that puts the Chicago political machine to shame. In fact, it’s the kind of people in power in Palm Beach County that are the kind of people my dad fought in WWII to defeat. They are threatening the very fabric of our republic.

Chat, rants and banter from Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Deputies

This post is strictly intended to solicit opinions; and not intended to separate the big dawgs from the puppies.
I recently saw a TV show titled "Caught on camera". This particular episode had a local law enforcement agency on, showing a traffic unit running radar on Interstate 95. The officer clocked a motorcycle reportedly going at over 120 miles per hour. The next thing you see is the officer's in car video obviously exceeding the speed limit and weaving in and out lanes to catch this motorcycle. When the officer does catch up to the suspected motorcycle, it is stopped for the traffic light on an off ramp. The officer approaches the motorcycle operator and the operator takes off. The officer grabs the back bar of the motorcycle and is dragged through the intersection.
First thing we all can learn is that grabbing onto a motorcycle is not going to stop it. This is like trying to stop a car by shoving our big butts in the drivers window to turn off the ignition. Now to the big questions.
How could any jury convict someone of violating the law if the officer had to commit the same violations, or more violations, to catch the bad guy?
Since the officer placed himself in jeopardy, should the bad guy have been charged with resisting arrest, or any additional violations? (NOTE the bad guy in this case was charged with criminal violations but they were dropped. Only the traffic offenses were allowed at trial)
We are talking traffic offenses up to this point. Should the same be said for criminal offenses? In other words should officers be allowed to violate the law, say when enforcing prostitution laws (even though that is not enforced in Palm Beach County) or narcotics violations?

Let's try to have a civil conversation to motivate the mind, not a conversation to motivate the mindless. Thank you

How did the Deputy or Officer break the law? By speeding? Nice try, no sale. That is as ludicrous as saying that an officer cant make an illegal turn in an emergency. Traffic Enforcement is not my cup of tea but the safety of others has to be evaluated as these situations are evaluated on a case by case basis. Every officer places themselves in jeopardy when interacting with the public on a call or traffic stop. I am unsure why charges were dropped because his fleeing was in fact a felony.

teh police should not MAKE CRIME to fight crime. Cops should not be aloud to commit crimes or do anything that JOE CITIZEN is not aloud to do and if they do brake the law they should be ARRESTED FOR IT just like WE THE PEOPLE are. Please end this tyranny!!!

I agree. All cops, even you cowards that say you are against the admin but don't do anything about it, are bastard scum. When the communist revolution comes you will be first against the wall.

Anytime a police officer PLACES HIMSELF IN JEODARDY, such as what this officer did by grabbing the motorcycle, the suspect is then free from charges. This is why charges of fleeing and resisting were dropped.

Same thing happens if you would intentionally step into the path of a fleeing vehicle just so you could shoot at the suspect. An officer MUST ALWAYS use due care in providing for the safety and protection of the public and themselves. This is called COMMON SENSE also.

Ok so according to your example a active shooter happens at your childs school. Multiple children are shot. Law Enforcement goes in and encounters the subject. LEO's shoot him but the suspect survives and is cleared of all charges because the officers also committed attempted homicide........ Now if in turn we drive 120 or shoot someone without a call to action (i.e. not observing a violation of law) then yes prosecute. Otherwise the judiciary has extended us the leeway to STOP the violations of law. There is no prize for losing and in fact its outright dangerous to not only the LEO but ALL of the public if we weren't given the flexability to stop illegal activity. Gangs would take over neighborhoods, drugs would be far worse then they are already, people would have even less regard for traffic laws ect ect ect. What you are proposing would work about as well as anarchy.

If you go down to their level you are no better than them. Jesus would not have used force against his fellow man.

religion has no place with logic. Oh and perhaps Jesus can respond to any of the aforementioned situations to save your loved one. Once your tired of waiting for him we will be available via 911.

Ummm and didn't Jesus get his ass nailed to some boards? Bet you ten bucks if Jesus had a Glock he'd have killed himself some heathen jews instead.

What if he was chilling in his crib with his virgin mother and a bunch of brothers busted in to do her Dunbar style? Thnk Jesus would have shot them or would he have turned the other cheek? Guess if she was hot he'd grab some popcorn and a beer and watch the show.

You Jesus lovers are the most gullible assholes ever. Common sense would tell you Jesus had no powers and him "turning his cheeks" was so he didn't have to try to come up with a plausible explanation why he didn't use his powers to smite them. What kind of dumb ass clown believes this nonsense? I will debate ANYONE on Jesus' s existence.

This doesn't need to turn into a religious debate, but I just want to clarify something, because I see a lot of distortion happening here.

Jesus had a purpose in saying "turn the other cheek". He was talking about loving your fellow man. He was talking about your attitude toward your neighbor, enemy, etc. He allowed Himself to be nailed to a cross because He had a higher purpose in what He was doing. He said Himself that if He desired He could bring down 10,000 angels to kill all His enemies. That wasn't what He came here to do. There's no honor in being a victim. There is great honor in willingly laying down one's life on the behalf of another, and that is what He did for every human being that ever lived after that point.

At the same time, He said to respect those in authority and, elsewhere in the Bible, it says that God uses the authorities as agents of God to hold sin in check.

I am a very serious Christian, and I have no doubt that Jesus would respect and support the fine men and women in law enforcement. At the same time, He would tell you as an individual to love your enemies, and not hate them, to do good to those who speak evil of you, revile you, etc.

You cop haters need to go spread your idiotic stupidity elsewhere, and don't distort my Gospel here.

Back to the original topic... this is a really stupid question. Law Enforcement officers do not break the law to enforce the law. They have plenty of laws governing what they can and cannot do. Whether they break those laws or not stands on its own. Speeding to catch a speeder is not breaking the law to enforce the law, because they're allowed to do it by law! Yeah, they're special--they get to do things normal people can't do. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

Classic strawman argument...

Jesus was a scam artist not unlike David Koresh. Saying I could have 10000 angels destroy them, but I'm not gonna do it reminds me of a scene from the mivie Heartbreak Ridge where after Clint Eastwood rips the earing out of Jones' ear and walks out, Jones stops whimpering and says "he's lucky I didn't kick his ass."
Its the same thing. Its much easier to talk like a big shot and make excuses why you can't perform. Isn't that right, Mr. Gauger?

Hey, speaking of Gauger, I know he follows Jesus. He especially likes that part about loving his fellow man, especially when his fellow men are just barely men. BTW, Anyone smell his fingers yet?

A persons religious beliefs are personal and should not be held up to ridicule by anyone. The disgusting comments regarding Mike Gauger's sexual preference are not only wrong, but libelous. I sure hope he prevails and puts your freedom of speech where it rightly belongs. You're out of touch, lack character and morals and fail to have a scintilla of truth. Being morally repugnant is not a skill.

Gee, why does everybody seem to elude to or identify such horrid conduct on the part of Mike Gauger. Hmmmm Really hits hot buttons when people speak out against such horrible conduct.

Those that deny the loudest and pointing elsewhere are usually the culprits. Mike sure does a lot of that...

How dare you write this trash about Michael Gauger? I spent my entire career here until I retired and I've spent more time working with Mike them most of you will be on the job. Mike has been more courageous than any of you yellow belly snivlers. I will never forget one day down off military and Okee back in the early 80s it used to be mostly white back then. Mike and I responded to a 13P. The caller though they were suspicious just because they were black. Tue lady had no other reason at all for calling. I arrived - I was brand new at the time. I was scared stiff because these were some really big guys and I hadn't dealt with blacks at that point. Not Mike. He came over cool as can be. He knew it was a BS call. He said to the big one "hey boy. What you doin in these parts?" The big guy said he was going to a work meeting at a friends house.

Mike said "boy we don't have no niggers in these parts so I'm going to ask you one more time what you are doing in these parts."

The big guy looked mad and his friend did to. The big one said "I'm going to my friend Erics house"

Mike said "you are lying. Erics a white boy. He don't hang out with no niggers." He pulled out his PR24 and he smashed the 2nd black right on the upper thigh. He then rammed him right in the solar plexus. The black criminal dropped to his knees. The big guy tried to run off but Mike threw his pr24 and knocked the 2nd criminal to the ground. Damned near knocked him out. Before he could get up, Mike ran up and kicked that guy right in the gut and then the face. Mike grabbed his tie and used it to swing him around into the patrol car. He picked up his brief case and started beating him over the head with it and shouting "you got drugs in here? You better unlock it before I crush your thick skull with it!"

The big black wad crying at that point. He fumbled and opened the briefcase and it was file folders and lots of them. We knew there was something suspicious but we had nothing to charge them with. Mike handed him his brief case and said I don't ever want to see your type in these parts again.

they skulked off. Mike gave me confidence I needed in dealing with those black animals. He single handedly took 2 of them out. He's one of the most courageous men I've known and the lessons he taught me were invaluable.

Why are we letting this kind of stuff get posted here?

You people might as well just take off the pre-moderation if you're going to allow this kind of stuff anyway... it'd probably be less liability for you that way!

A drug dealer wearing a tie and carrying a brief case? Come on now - is Mike so much of a racist thug that's what he things of all blacks? This post is just sickning. No wonder Mike's kid grew up to be such a violent racist.

Gauger's son was beating someone and calling them a nigger. He should have been charged with a hate crime. He learned from his daddy how to be a racist and he also learned how to duck responsibility for his actions. Gauger raised a good boy.

As usual, facts don't matter here. Gauger's son wasn't beating on ANYONE. The allegation that he called the officer a "nigger" is not at all credible for two reasons. First reason, the officers from WPBPD who dislocated his shoulder, apparently "instructed" the so called witnesses what to write in their statements. Second, the criminal charges were dropped AND WPBPD settled the lawsuit filed by young Gauger. Now if he was guilty of such egregious conduct, none of this would have taken place. You myopic hate Gauger and Bradshaw idiots disgust me.
