I have no problem with what is seen in the photos. I do, however, have a problem that same cops that would gladly arrest you or I for something similar are not following the "laws" they enforce.

Van Reeth needs to just "bite the bullet" on this one! If it was a "Joe road D/S" then they would be facing suspension for sure. If he would just admit that he used very poor judgment and take the 1-day suspension, then he would set an example and show that he's not above the law! THIS MAN (SCOTT WHEELER) WAS INVITED BY THE HOLDERS OF THE TOURNAMENT (NOT THE CLUB), MANY OF THEM COPS, IN DIRECT CONFLICT WITH THE SPECIFIC REQUEST OF MANAGEMENT, AND THE WISHES OF THE OWNER. No, there's no crime. You'd have to have a member of the public come forward and say they saw the nude female just to get an Indecent Exposure charge. Even if his son was a minor at the time, just being nude in front of a teenager w/ out something more going on is perfectly legal. But, this is a leadership failure for sure on VanReeth's part. Doesn't anyone remember his lecture to the troops during in-service training a couple of years ago about social media and avoiding compromising situations??? Do as I say, not as I do? I used to have a lot of respect for VanReeth...now I'm just disappointed.

I had to look at the photo again to realize it wasn't a recent photo. When I took another look at it I know now it is not that recent because VanReeth is much fatter now.

See, that's where ther BS and assumptions come into play. The person responsible for this site is, based on my knowledge of the situation, a FORMER employee of a LE agency. Has anyone ever asked what/why there is a FORMER in that statement? Was there some illegal, immoral or policy violating incident(s) that led to him leaving the LE agency? Titties, beer, and golf. These guys were off-duty and not representing their agencies in any way that is obvious to anyone who views those photographs. If I were the gentlemen in the picture I would be contact an attorney regarding possible litigation against the person(s) responsible for posting this picture with their names and agency information, as well as the unsupported and unproven assertion that the female in the photograph is in fact a prostitute. There's freedom of speech, but there is also a thing called slander. Can the person who posted the picture(s) with the "Prostitute" prove that any illegal activity was occurring. Is there any physical evidence or witness testimony supporting the poster's assumption that there was a pimp present and that the unidentified male and female were in fact engaged in illegal activity????

How about you do some reading, like maybe just a couple posts up to start . . . I'm not sure which is more deficient; your "knowledge of the situation", your research skills, your reading comprehension skills, or your ego. You might want to break out whatever literature you may still have on official department policy, which you obviously never bothered to read when you were on active duty. There are quite a few generous posts within this forum that contain the relevant information. I thank God you are retired.

Majoe Van Reeth is your personally hand picked officerand he must be held to a higher standard. He was in charge of your internal affairs unit and made daily decisions which impacted the lives of many deputies and civilians involved in these investigations. Major Van Reeth's Ethics, Morality, and Professional Standards are truly questionable and at the heart of ths issue. If I were a deputy found quilty of any violations involving ethics or professional standards, I would hire an attorney and sue in court to have my case reopened.
YOU hired him, YOU MUST personally FIRE him. The public and YOUR agency is watching. YOUR own personal integrity is at risk. Secondly, You should voluntarily resign your position on the State of Florida board of standards and training.
If YOU take a position of no action on this matter, YOU will be sending a green light that You personally condone thie type of behavior.

The photos were posted much faster than the details surrounding them could be properly organized and "substantiated" through appropriate channels; fixing that now.
